Viji Subramaniam (1952 - 9 February 1995) was an Indian singer, tambura player, and composer. She was a daughter of Rajendra Shankar and Lakshmi Shankar, a niece of Uday Shankar and Ravi Shankar, the wife of L. Subramaniam, the mother of Gingger Shankar, Ambi Subramaniam, and Bindu Subramaniam, a cousin of Ananda Shankar, Mamata Shankar, Shubho Shankar, Norah Jones, and Anoushka Shankar, a daughter-in-law of V. Lakshminarayana, and a sister-in-law of L. Vaidyanathan and Shankar.
