US soul funk band from St. Petersburg area, in Florida, active in the 1st half of 70s. Formed in early 70s by Arthur "Speck" Colden, The Outlaw Gang toured extensively in the US southeast providing backing to notable acts such as Eddie Floyd, Rufus Thomas, O.V. Wright and Z.Z Hill. The group shared a manager and agent with another popular local act of the time, Child's Of Friendship Train Robbers. In 1974 they recorded and released their only single, whose realization is the result of an amalgamation of the two bands. Following the good sales of the single regionally, The Outlaw Gang were often hired in by Clarence Reid for Blowfly and other TK-based projects.
