American old-time duo consisting of brothers Sam and Kirk, active from the 1920s until the death of Sam in 1975. They notably collaborated with Uncle Dave Macon (as Uncle Dave Macon & His Fruit Jar Drinkers) and Arthur Smith (as Arthur Smith And His Dixie Liners), as well as playing with many other luminaries, such as Roy Acuff, Ernest Tubb, and Bill Monroe.
