Doc Watson, who passed away in 2012, is one of the Blue Ridge's best-known musicians. Mostly remembered for hos virtuosity on the guitar, Doc could play a number of instruments, including autoharp, and was a powerful singer. His family included fiddling father-in-law, Gaither Carlton, and brother Arnold Watson, who played banjo.
