Mexican band leader, pianist, and composer for television and films and widely regarded as ‘the father of space-age lounge music’. Born January 20, 1918, Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Died January 3, 2002, Jiutepec, Morelos, Mexico. He started his own band in Mexico at the age of 19, named Sonoramica.
