Formula 3

Formula 3 is an Italian prog rock band, initially active from 1969 to 1974 and again from 1990. The group was founded in 1969, and was originally made up of Alberto Radius (guitars and vocals), Tony Cicco (drums and vocals) and Gabriele Lorenzi (keyboards). During their early career they played progressive rock music, and as such released four albums 1970-73. During these years they owed much of their success to producer and songwriter Lucio Battisti, and the lyrics of the iconic Mogol.

Formula 3 disbanded in 1974, but was reunited in 1990 with the original lineup, although with a much softer music that perhaps didn't cater to their old audience. In 1992, Gabriele Lorenzi left the band and was replaced by Andrea Pistilli (1992-94), then Maurizio Metals and now Ciro Di Bitonto.
