Осип Мандельштам

Osip Mandelstam (1891–1938) was a Russian poet, novelist, essayist, translator and literary critic, widely considered as one of the greatest Russian poets of the 20th century. He was arrested by [a=Joseph Stalin]'s government during the repression of the 1930s and sent into exile in southwestern part of Russia. In 1938, Mandelstam was arrested again and sentenced to a camp in Siberia. He died the same year at a transit camp.
