American counter-tenor famed for his exceptionally high vocal range. Born 15 January 1880 in Jersey City, New Jersey, to German-American immigrant parents; died 15 May 1956. He began recording for Edison Records in 1908 and recorded duets with Billy Murray, From 1912 to 1914 he recorded with the Heidelberg Quintet, joining the members of the American Quartet.
