Waldemar Åhlén

Swedish organist, composer and music teacher, born July 21, 1894 in Helgesta, Sweden, died December 18, 1982 in Stockholm, Sweden. 1913-1921 he studied at the Music Conservatory in Stockholm, took an organist's degree and a degree in piano tuning in 1915 as well as a church singing degree and a music teacher's degree in 1917. In addition, he took private lessons in organ playing from Gustaf Hägg, after which he went to Dresden and was trained by Bernard Pfannstiehl. Under Ernst Ellberg, he studied counterpoint, composition and instrumentation, and learned to conduct from Olallo Morales.
