Clarence Rigsby (tenor), Robert Thursby (tenor), William Solomon (baritone) and Mark Prince (bass). Formed in 1960 in Texas after Virgil Johnson, a teacher of eighth grade English at Blackshear Junior High School in Odessa, Texas, heard some of his students harmonising. They were introduced and signed to Monument by fellow Texan Roy Orbison.
