The Quotations

About

Doowop group from Brooklyn formed in 1958 consisting of Larry Kassman (lead), Richie Schwartz (1st tenor), Lew Arno (2nd tenor) and Murray Hirshkowitz (baritone). Managed by songwriter Helen Miller, the quartet took their name from one of their demo songs, "Quotations Of Love." The group is best known for its up-tempo rendition of the standard, "Imagination," which was released in late 1961 and peaked nationally at #70. Lew Arno left the group around 1962 and was replaced by Sandy Sonner. The group eventually disbanded sometime around 1964.
