Solano Jacob is a teacher, writer and musician of great influence in the national reggae scene. Born in São Bernardo do Campo in the late 70s, for more than fifteen years he has been working throughout Brazil and even abroad in order to combine music with education in the process of building the human Spirit.
Bachelor and Degree from the Institute of Biological Sciences, the Faculty of Education – FEA and the Faculty of Letters, Philosophy and Social Sciences of the University of São Paulo – USP, Solano Jacob has always believed in the synchrony between the musical environment and an academic training for our individual and social progress.
For two years he was a researcher at the Department of Immunology of the Institute of Biosciences of the University of São Paulo, where he sought to expand knowledge about the mechanisms of action of snake venoms of the genus Bothrops in the Human Complement System.
Solano Jacob has more than ten years of experience as a teacher. She worked for five years in the state education network of the State of São Paulo and in private schools. For almost eight years, he directed Intelectu, a private tutoring school focused on tutoring, pre-university courses, public exams and languages.
He was the creator and leader of the São Paulo band Leões de Israel for more than six years, a work in which he rose in his career as a singer and songwriter through great hits such as Filhos Rebeldes, Secou a Fonte, Ouça a Profecia, Me Gwann Treading, Around The Land and Jah Jah Children, as well as the release of two albums entitled – Pilares Da Justiça Ao Vivo (2002) and Palavra Viva (2005).
In mid-2005, Solano Jacob along with his original band were invited to represent Brazil at the largest Jamaican reggae festival, the Rebel Salute Festival in a city near the capital Kingston. Amid the great legends of Jamaican reggae such as Burning Spear, Cocoa Tea, Third World, The Congos, Inner Circle and Luciano, Solano Jacob got applause and respect from the Jamaican people while singing one of his compositions in English, "Me Gwann". This presentation can be watched on the world-renowned DVD, Rebel Salute 2006 – Volume 3.
In 2006, Solano brought a new work proposal. In a solo career, he presented in May 2008 an unprecedented project – A Fé e a Razão. A proof that music and the act of thinking are allies in any educational process, the work is presented in two complementary parts: the album containing 12 tracks and the book of the same title. Distributed by Tratore, the project "Faith and Reason" can be found in several media outlets such as Submarino, Amazon, Napster, FNAC, Siciliano, Saraiva and Livrarias Cultura.
In 2009, Solano Jacob recorded his first DVD entitled "Ao vivo – Tribe House 2009", containing performances of songs from the album "A Fé e a Razão" and from the beginning of his career. In January 2010 he returned to Jamaica for several concerts in Kingston, Bull Bay and St. Elizabeth. With the worldwide repercussion of the project "Faith and Reason", Solano Jacob was invited to carry out a European tour in 2010, which included countries such as: Poland, Germany, Slovenia and the Czech Republic and cities such as Berlin, Munich, Dortmund, Warsaw and Ljubljana.
In the middle of creative production, Solano Jacob presents in the second half of 2012 his new album called "The Sanctuary of the Family", a current and reflective approach to the theme of the modern family, its crises and identities.
Three years later, continuing his literary production, Solano Jacob presents his audience with another book: Caminhos e Escolhas. An easy-to-grasp work, independent chapters always accompanied by a reflective critical text, brings us good chances to reflect on human nature. A book that deals with free will and the collective consequences of our choices.
