Leões de Israel

The name "Leões De Israel" arose with the intention of symbolically reuniting the Twelve Tribes of Israel who suffered a schism after the death of Solomon in 933 BC. Created in 1999, with their quality sound, the band gradually gained space and the respect of renowned artists in the segment, such as Jamaican singer Gregory Isaacs, who invited them to accompany him on his 2005 and 2007 tours. The shows took place in the North/Northeast of Brazil and some Latin American countries. The first tour in 2005 saw the release of the DVD of the “República do Reggae” Festival held in Salvador.

As a backing band, the Lions of Israel have collaborated with a number of international reggae singers. With the success of this first tour with Gregory Isaacs, the band was called to accompany other reggae music stars such as Clinton Fearon (2007 and 2018), Gregory Isaacs again in 2007 and 2009, Pablo Moses (2008), Eek-A-Mouse (2010), Doreen Shaffer (2011), Siddy Ranks (2011), Max Romeo (2010 and 2011), The Abyssinians (2012 and 2013), Marcia Griffiths (2013 and 2024), Johnny Clarke (2017), The Mighty Diamonds (2017), The Congos (2017), Nkulee Dube (2018), Ken Boothe (2018) and with the Orquestra Sinfônica Brasil, under the baton of maestro João Maurício Galindo, and important names in national reggae: Marcio Killaman, Rodrigo Piccolo, Tati Portella, Dada Yute and Junior Dread in the unprecedented Reggae In Concert that celebrated the 19th anniversary of the Associação Cultural Reggae and accompanied the Banda The Mighty Diamonds in the annual edition of República do Reggae held in Salvador/BA.

The band is preparing to perform its repertoire of new songs and others that have marked these almost 2 decades of existence with the vocalists: Killaman and Fox Ahmad, currently in the band, Dada Yute and Solano Jacob. Yes! All of them. Together on stage for a great celebration of Reggae and the 25 years of Lions of Israel.
