Russell "Russ" Smith was briefly a member of A.R. Kane, playing bass on their undefined single "Lollita" and the undefined EP Up Home!; during this time, he was also an "R" in M|A|R|R|S, although his contribution was limited to the b-side. He co-founded Terminal Cheesecake in 1988, and in 1993, he joined both God and Skullflower, and has since recorded extensively with the latter. Using the alias "The Rustler", Smith oversaw assembly of the compilations Steppin' Hot Fourteen 60's Soul Sizzlers, Because You're Funky (Rare Funk 45s), and The Rustlers Roots Of Funk (20 Ultra Rare Rocking Funk And RnB Instrumentals). Having rejoined Terminal Cheesecake in 2010, he has also recently played in Melting Hand, and records under the names Plastic Face and Tabby Sensibilities.
