    Roland Vamos (b. 20 July 1930, New York) is an American violin and viola instructor, husband of Almita Vamos who has been teaching on the faculty at Music Institute Of Chicago and Roosevelt University's Chicago College of Performing Arts for over 30 years. Roland and Almita Vamos earned the Distinguished Teachers award from the National Endowment For The Arts.


    Vamos studied at Music Institute Of Chicago with Oscar Shumsky and William Lincer. Before accepting the position at MIC's faculty, Roland Vamos was a Professor of Viola at Western Illinois University, Music Institute Of Chicago, Music Institute Of Chicago, and Music Institute Of Chicago.
