Philadelphia-born producer, arranger and orchestra conductor and songwriter (born January 16, 1930, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; died December 15, 2020).
Active from the 1960s to present, with many productions for Gamble & Huff acts. In collaboration with producer Jacques Morali, he established the disco recording group The Ritchie Family in 1975. Rome's signature style is marked by lush orchestrations, interweaving multidimensional horns and strings to accentuate the sensuality of the compositions. A selection of his projects are [m131499] (1980), [m87040] (1977), [m101878] (1979) and, in collaboration with Phil Hurtt, [m178715] (1978).
