Father of Ranking Junior
Frontman of [a=The Beat (2)] (1978-1983) and after their spilt he formed together with Dave Wakeling General Public (1984-1987, 1994-1997) as singer and toaster. 1988 he released a solo album. At the beginning of the 1990s he formed the band Special Beat together with ex-members of [a=The Beat (2)] and The Specials and joined Big Audio Dynamite for their final studio album [r=4757692] in 1997.
2013 he formed a new [a=The Beat (6)] and released until his sudden death 2019 with them two studio albums.
