Ray Charles’s female backing singers. Also credited as The Raelets or The Raeletts.
Ray Charles formed the Raelets in 1958 by recruiting two members from The Cookies Darlene McCrea and Margie Hendrix with two more women Priscilla Lyles and Gwendolyn Berry.
Since then the group has had many members come and go, among them artists such as Edna Wright and Mable John, Minnie Riperton, Merry Clayton, Clydie King of the Blackberries, and latter-day Supreme Susaye Greene.
