Radio-Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart

The Radio-Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart (RSO) was affiliated to the Southwest Broadcasting Company Südwestrundfunk (SWR). It was founded in 1945 as Kleines Symphonie-Orchester Stuttgart and appeared under different names over the years, as Radio-Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart (with slight variations, see chronology below) between 1975 and 2016. Chief conductors were Sergiu Celibidache, Sir Neville Marriner, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Georges Prêtre, Roger Norrington and [a4408888].

In 2016/17 the orchestra was merged with the SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden Und Freiburg to form the SWR Symphonieorchester.
