American singer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter.

Brother of Mary Kaye and son of Johnny "Ukulele" Kaaihue.
Married to singer Cheryle Thompson.
He charted in the U.S. as a songwriter 4 times, including: "Say It With Your Heart" by Bob Carroll (#14 in 1953) (co-written by Steve Nelson), "Someone Else's Love Song" by George Shaw (#29,1954) (co-written by Ethel Marsh), "Let's Love" by Johnny Mathis (#44, 1959) (co-written by Richard J. Ferrans), and "Shirley" by Tony Orlando (#133, 1963).
"Throw a Dime My Way," a song Kaye wrote, became the theme song for the International March of Dimes. Another of his compositions, "Have a Heart, Lend a Hand," was the theme for the Variety Clubs International.
After serving in the army during World War II, Kaye and his sister formed a group that evolved into the Mary Kaye Trio. They first played Las Vegas, Nevada in 1947. In 1954, Kaye moved to Las Vegas to work the at the Hotel Last Frontier. After retiring from music, Kaye and his wife owned Norman Kaye Real Estate, one of the largest real estate companies in Nevada.
