In 1981 Georgi Gogow left the band City and formed NO 55 with other professional musicians.
NO 55 was the postal code of 'Prenzlauer Berg', the part of East Berlin, where Gogow was living at that time.
Renamed to '[a= Enno]' in 1984 when [a= Frank Gahler] left the band for military service, after the service he started the band [a= Gala (7)].
However he returned for the next album and the name was changed back to NO 55.
The band dissolved in 1989 when Frank Gahler left the 'DDR' (East Germany) who was then the creative head of the band.
