After college Plunky Nkabinde migrated to San Francisco and Ken Shabala followed. In 1969 they met Lon Moshe, a vibraphonist from Chicago and joined an African avant-garde group called Ndikho And The Natives, led by South African pianist & percussionist Ndikho Xaba. The group recorded one, eponymously titled LP.
