Monica Lewis

American jazz singer and actress. Born May 5, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Died June 12, 2015 in Los Angeles, California, USA. Daughter of pianist [a2933404] & sister of pianist [a=Barbara Lewis Golub]. Married to record producer [a253353] (1945-1948). Marrried to film producer [a5385544] (1956-1996; his death). Her father, Leon, was a concert pianist and former music director of CBS. Her mother, Jessica, sang leading roles with the Chicago Opera Co. and was also a vocal coach. She charted solo once with "Midnight Masquerade" in 1947, which hit #16 in the U.S. and with [a439542] "A Tree in the Meadow" which earned #21 in 1948.
