He is chief conductor of the Nagoya Philharmonic since 2013, principal guest conductor of the Royal Flemish Philharmonic (deFilharmonie) since 2009 and music director of the Huddersfield Choral Society since 2014. He was associate principal conductor of the BBC SSO from 1994 to 2005.
