Marka

Marka is the nickname of Serge Van Laeken, a Belgian singer, musician, film maker and author, born on 27 May 1961 near Brussels. Married to [a2343439], and father of [a5151900] & Angèle. He grew up in Molenbeek and started his musical career in 1978 in a punk band called The Profiles, singing and playing bass. In 1981 Marka joined Allez Allez, who released 2 albums of which 1 reached gold status in Belgium. He then formed [a1892712] in 1983, a garage-rock band, and in 1988 he formed [url=https://www.discogs.com/artist/3379009-Bla-Bla-Bla-2]Bla Bla Bla[/url], a rock/rap combo. In 1992 he started making solo records. In 2007 there was the [a6655446] project. (He was given the nickname Markassou by an African friend and it was later shortened to Marka.)
