Les Snuls

Les Snuls was a Belgian comedic troupe active between 1989 and 1993 with a weekly television show on Canal+ Belgique, Film Belge feature-length TV movie, and several music albums. Inspired by groundbreaking British comedians Monty Python (who had a brief reunion in 1989), the collective presented a unique blend of nonsensical, self-mocking, and often borderline rude humor focusing heavily on the most archetypal symbols and tropes of "belgitude," from national cuisine and folklore to "household name" celebrities, like Maurice Béjart or Jacques Brel. Les Snuls also parodied stereotypical American sitcoms with quirky adaptations and comedy routines, such as Santa Belgica, a spoof of the iconic "Santa Barbara" soap opera. Some of the prominent guests who appeared on their show over the years include director and actor [a=Bouli Lanners], comedian and actress [a=Laurence Bibot], [a=Benoît Poelvoorde] with his song "Allô les Américains," and Sandra Kim, who also sang as "Miss Bricola" on the group's 1991 single [m=569640].
