About

Nathaniel Thomas Wilson (born July 20, 1968), better known as Kool G Rap (or simply G Rap), is an American rapper. He started his career in the mid-1980s as part of the duo Kool G Rap & D.J. Polo and as a member of the Juice Crew All Stars. Recognized as one of the most skilled and influential MCs in hip-hop, he helped pioneer mafioso rap, hardcore street narratives, and intricate multisyllabic rhyming. On his album The Giancana Story, he mentioned that the "G" in his name stands for "Giancana" (after mobster Sam Giancana), though he has also stated it stands for "Genius."
