Born in Söderfors, Uppland, December 8, 1872 and died in Uppsala July 4, 1957. He graduated as organist, church singer and music teacher, and studied composition studies for Ruben Liljefors. Throughout his active life he lived in Uppsala, where he appeared as composer, organist, choir leader, teacher and critic. He became a composer early in the modernist direction, but then sought greater simplicity. Although he worked in several genres, the focus is on the over 200 songs. Member No. 606 of the Swedish Royal Academy of Music.
