Ibéria

Portuguese Hard Rock/Heavy Metal band. Based in Baixa Da Banheira, Moita. Originally formed in 1984 as Asgarth.

Original line-up:
- João Alexandre: guitar,
- João Sérgio Reis: bass,
- Toninho: guitar,
- Tony Duarte: drums,
- Luís Filipe: vocals.

In 1986 Francisco Landum joined as guitarist, and the band changed the name to Ibéria. In the same year Tony Duarte and Luís Filipe departed, with João Alexandre taking over vocals. Tony Cê joined on drums. Francisco Landum, although active as guitarist, producer and composer was not officially part of the band. Only from 1989 onwards will Landum become an official member, following their concert at the Coliseum of Lisbon.

Toninho left the band on May 28th 1988, rejoining in 1989. Also during May João Alexandre entered the mandatory military conscription. Both Tony Cê and Francisco Landum left the band, to be replaced by Tony Duarte and Toninho respectively, with Toninho leaving again in October 1989. Vasco Vaz and Marco Cesário join the band as replacements. The band decided to go on a hiatus due to the constraints of other projects each member is working on, until 1992.

The line up then consists of João Sergio, drummer Quim Andrade (ex-STS Paranoid), Toninho, João Alexandre and vocalist Miguel Angelo. In late 1993, João Alexandre leaves the band for England, and Quim Andrade also leaves (for "professional reasons"). They are promptly replaced by guitarist Victor Brás and drummer Pedro Torrão. In 1996 Miguel Angelo announces his decision to leave the group, upon which the band decides to disband.
