American country music singer. Born in October 11, 1943 Palestine, Texas. Watson was one of seven children of a sawmill worker and crop picker. He's charted 48 times between 1975 and 1997 on the U.S. country charts. His first big hit came in 1975 with "Love In The Hot Afternoon, which hit #3. His first #1 came in 1981 with " Fourteen Carat Mind"; "You're Out Doing What I'm Here Doing Without" hitting #2 in 1983. All in all, he had twenty top 10 country hits. The Farewell Party Band is his long-time backing band.
