Jones is an English musician from Liverpool.


He formed The Stairs, a sixties oriented band with English Beat, Garage Rock, Blues Rock and Psychedelic influences, as vocalist and bassist with Ged Lynn (rhythm/lead guitar), Paul Maguire (drums).
Jones also formed The Isrites and The Big Kids, who featured two of the future The Zutons, and Howie Payne of The Stands.
After the breakup of the band in 1994, Jones has worked with Paul Weller, Johnny Marr, Saint Etienne, and Lee Mavers
