Die Sekte

Die Sekte (The Sect) is a loose affiliation of German rap artists, formed in 1998 around the core members Sido and B-Tight ([a260280]), along with other Berlin rappers, most notably Rhymin' Simon and Vokalmatador. Shortly after Royal TS left [l37796] in July of 2000, the newly formed label [l25833] offered die Sekte a label contract. With most of the original members gone by this point, Rhymin' Simon and Vokalmatador decided to leave the group as well.

In 2003, die Sekte debuted with a new line-up on Aggro [m=139734], but further activities were limited to occasional compilation appearances until 2009. That year saw the release of their self-titled [m=434557] album, with the Christmas Edition marking the first time for any of the original members of die Sekte to participate in the group's music since 2001. As of 2022, this has also been the last time the group was active in any capacity.

Not to be confused for A.i.d.S. (Alles ist die Sekte, new name of [a260280]).
