    American singer, hit songwriter, and recording artist.

    Born November 13, 1932 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Died January 9, 2023 in Augusta, Georgia, USA.
    In the mid-1950s Flood was part of The Country Lads duo with Billy Graves, an Army buddy. The duo landed an appearance on The Jimmy Dean Show in 1956. Dean liked the pair and they became regulars, eventually signing a contract with Columbia Records. The Lads stayed on with Jimmy Dean for three years right up to the end of the show in 1958. When the Dean show ended the Country Lads ended as well, Flood headed for Nashville to sell his songs and Graves signed on with Monument Records.
    In 1964, Flood organized a three piece group named Dick Flood And The Pathfinders. Soon after, Flood created his own music label, Totem Records (14).
    In 1981, Flood changed his name to Okefenokee Joe, and in 1989 he hosted and narrated the Emmy award-winning documentary Swampwise on Georgia Public Broadcasting.
