Corina Vamvakari
Greek-Dutch singer and lyricist. She lives and owns a women's fashion store in Volendam, the Netherlands. Born 16 Nov. 1973 in Athens, Attica, Greece. She is the lead singer on the non-instrumental Tol & Tol tracks, e.g. the 1989 hitsingle [m=160285]. Together with her mother [a=Marie Tol]/Maria Vamvakari and her sister Gella Vamvakari she formed The Thesalonikis, who did the backing vocals and choirs on several Tol & Tol tracks. All three also wrote lyrics for these Tol & Tol tracks. Corina wrote the lyrics on [r=12021004].
Corina also released some solo singles under the ANV Corine, which were produced by her uncles Cees Tol and Thomas Tol in the late 90's. In 2000 she recorded a CD with Nikos Ignatiadis and a solo CD in 2008 [r=13136655]. She's married and has two children Eleni (2003), who is named after the hitsingle, and Irini (2009).
She's a cousin of Thomas Tol's son [a=Kees Tol]. Her father was Στέλιος Βαμβακάρης, Stelios Vamvakaris, a Greek bouzouki ciruoso and composer.
