Cees Tol

Dutch guitarist, songwriter and producer, born 9 December 1947 in Volendam, The Netherlands. One of the founders of [a=BZN] around 1965, left the band in 1988. Together with his brother [a=Thomas Tol], who also left BZN one month later in 1988 he formed the duo [a=Tol & Tol]. Please DO NOT use this duo PRIOR to their start as a duo in 1989. For [a=Jan Smit]-related credits (2002-2013) please also use them as duo. For [a=BZN]-related credits (prior to 1989) please use both brothers SEPARATELY. In 2013 Cees Tol left the showbiz after a cerebral infarction. Cees Tol died on April 13, 2018 at the age of 70 at the hospital due to the consequences of sudden pneumonia. Also brother of [a=Marie Tol]/[a=Maria Vamvakari], and uncle of Marie's sisters [a=Corina Vamvakari] & [a=Gella Vamvakari]. The three formed [a=The Thesalonikis], which did all the backing vocals/choir on Tol & Tol albums. Also uncle of Thomas' son [a=Kees Tol]. Brother-in-law of [a=Στέλιος Βαμβακάρης] (his sister's husband).
