    Chris Gordon

Chris Gordon was born in New York City and moved to Los Angeles at the age of 8. He came from a musical family; his father was a music composer, arranger, and piano teacher; his sister was part of the girl group The Murmaids, who had a hit record in 1963 with "Popsicles and Icicles". Chris was taught piano and was in his high school band as a clarinet player.

After high school Chris entered the Air Force where he studied electronics. When he completed his tour he attended UC Berkeley and received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. He then worked for an electronics company in the Bay Area for two years. He returned to Los Angeles and was a recording engineer at Conway Studios from 1977 into 1980.

During off hours he worked on a “concept” album of space rock instrumentals. The first composition was a guitar solo entitled (as the album would be called) “Solar Wind”. This bit of music would find its way into several “adult” films. Other compositions would feature Mini-Moog synthesizer.

Chris also played synthesizer on two other artist’s albums, as well as playing lead synthesizer on the sought after 1979 Disco song "Ask Me To Dance" by Sassy Alan, which was featured on an episode of the NBC sitcom The Facts Of Life and later, in the 1982 teen comedy film "Goin All The Way".

In 1980 the music business slowed down, he left Conway to pursue a career in computer science—working at Hughes Research Laboratories and later, in city government. In the 1990s he returned to music to make home recordings of “new age” keyboard compositions.
