Born 14th July 1952 in Tottenham, London, England, UK and passed away 25th March 2024.

English musician, best known as the bass guitarist in the group Ultravox. As Chris St John he was bass player with [a=Tiger lily (2)] from 1974; as punk was starting to happen the band changed its name mid '76 to Ultravox! and Chris elected to call himself Chris Cross coinciding with the recording their eponymous debut album. He continued to play bass (and some keyboards) in the later line-up of Ultravox until 1986 and in 2008 he re-joined the 'classic' Vienna-era line-up of the band for a successful reunion tour.
Brother of Jeff Allen of 70s glam-pop-rock band Hello.
