Cathy Rich is the daughter and only child of renowned, American drummer and band leader Buddy Rich, born in 1955. She had a hit single in August 1967 with her dad's band with Sonny Bono's And the Beat Goes On (c/w Mexicali Nose'), available in a live version on Buddy Rich Big Band's 1967 debut LP [r1791398]. At 18, she pursued a career in modelling while at the same time touring the world with her father. When he died in 1987, she followed his wishes and took over his band.
