The Liverbirds

British beat group formed in early 1962 (as The Debutones), split up in 1967. The group was an all female band of the Merseybeat scene. Birch and McGlory replaced founder members Irene Green (vocals) and Sheila McGlory. The UK group had some success in Germany, i.e. at the Star-Club Hamburg (where they were referred to as a female version of The Beatles) as well as with two albums and one top five single.
