American rock band from Fayetteville, Arkansas, based around twin brothers Ernest Cate and Earl Cate. Founded as The Cates Gang in 1970, becoming Cate Brothers in 1975 and also recording as Cate Bros. Band since 1977.
Founded as The Cates Gang in 1970, releasing two albums at Metromedia Records and in 1975 Levon Helm inroduced them at Metromedia Records. Their only U.S. hit in the pop charts was [url=https://www.discogs.com/Cate-Bros-Union-Man-Easy-Way-Out/release/1958726]"Union Man"[/url] reaching No.24 in 1976. They kept on recording and performing into the 2000s.
