    Born 13th July 1961 in South Africa (Kwa-Maphumulo - Near Stanger).
    Died 7-Apr-2010 in Durban, South Africa.

    His career began in 1982 when he was introduced to producer Tom Mkhize. He joined a band that was divided into two outfits, one a Mbaqanga group for which he was a backing vocalist, and the other a Maskandi group for which he was the lead singer and guitarist.

    Bhekumuzi first recorded in 1984 and then in 1985, but feels that it was only in about 1988 that he began to consider himself professional.

    With 23 albums released & over a million units sold, Luthuli continued with his unique sound and phenomenal compositional skills that were showcased right through his career. With his rhythmical and beat driven style, Bhekumuzi told beautiful stories through his music, reaching deep into the hearts of millions of fans in South Africa.

    In February 2010, Bhekumuzi Luthuli released his latest album offering "Imali Yabelungu", which accomplished Gold Status within one week of its release in South Africa.
