Died November 6, 2022 in South Carolina, USA. Married to Charles Grean. Mother of Lydia Gray and Elisabeth Gray, whom she later in life recorded with
Johnson began singing with her family on broadcasts from 1938 to 1951, and she began solo work on the station as well beginning in 1943. She charted 10 times, including "I Dreamed", which rose to #9 on the U.S. charts in 1956 (written by Charles Grean & Marvin Moore). She had frequent appearances on radio's "Breakfast Club" and TV's "Tonight Show".
