Bernice Johnson Reagon

American singer, composer, scholar, and social activist, born October 4, 1942, Dougherty County, Georgia - died July 17, 2024. She founded [a=Sweet Honey in the Rock] in 1973. She was also a member of Harambee Singers and [a=Freedom Singers], founded by her ex-husband [a=Cordell Reagon]. Her and Cordell's daughter [a=Toshi Reagon] is also a musician.
