Aziza Brahim is a Saharawi singer born in a refugee camp in Algeria. She did her first recordings for the [i]Saharawi National Radio[/i] in the refugee camps of the self-proclaimed (1976) Saharawi state and then she toured outside the camps, in Mauritania and Algeria, as part of the [i]National Saharawi Music Group[/i]. Presently she's working with her new group [i]Gulili Mankoo[/i], mixing western sahara music, senegalese rhythms, blues and rock.
