Swedish musician, actor and photo model living in Stockholm, born 22 January 1988 in Tehran, Iran. He came to Sweden at the age of two with his mother, stand-up comedian, Zinat Pirzadeh. He has appeared as an actor in the TV series Labyrint and it was there that he first came into contact with music through a scene where he was supposed to sing and play guitar. Since then, Mirpour has focused on music and released two EPs in 2010, Curly Boys Law and I Am a Volcano. On 11 April 2012, he released the album Boy Will Sing for Directions Home. Armand Mirpour is also a member of the alternative band Det Urbana Barnets Sorg. The band made headlines after they were stopped on stage during a concert at the Ung08 festival, after they criticized the concert organizer's exclusion of Planka.nu and its supporters from the festival area. In 2012, Mirpour formed the record label BNOGA with one of his friends from Det Urbana Barnets Sorg. He says that the idea for BNOGA, which is an acronym for Be Nice Or Go Away, came about after he felt too limited and controlled during his journey as a signed solo artist, and from the perception that the music industry was stuck in old ruts. Mirpour also writes music for other artists, including Japanese acts. Mirpour has worked as a photo model for Filippa K and Cheap Monday, among others.
