Alrune Rod ("Mandrake Root") is a Danish, psychedelic/progressive rock group that existed between 1968 and March 1975. They were originally called Alrunes Rod on their first single, the 1969 7" Pigen på stranden ("The Girl On the Beach"), as well as their 1969 selftited album debut. Leader was Leif Roden (1948-2010), creating the major part of the band's material.
Alrune Rod disbanded in 1975, but was reformed in the 00's with original members Leif Roden, Mikael Miller and Ole Poulsen
