He was the son of Μιχάλης Κονιτόπουλος and brother of Ειρήνη Κονιτοπούλου-Λεγάκη, Κώστας Κονιτόπουλος, Αγγελική Κονιτοπούλου & Βαγγέλης Κονιτόπουλος. Nephew of Δημήτρης Φυρογένης. Cousin of Κούλα Κονιτοπούλου. In 1963, he married Αικ. Κονιτοπούλου with whom they had two children, Michalis Konitopoulos & Νάσια Κονιτοπούλου. Uncle of Ελένη Λεγάκη (Irene's daughter), Στέλλα Κονιτοπούλου (Angeliki's daughter), Βασίλης Κλουβάτος (Angeliki's son), Μαρία Κονιτοπούλου (Angeliki's daughter], and Μιχάλης Κονιτόπουλος (Vangelis' son).
In 1979, the five siblings opened the legendary 'Muragio' club together, which closed in the late 1980s.
