Yuri Gulyaev (9 August 1930 - 12 April 1986) was a Russian and Ukrainian baritone singer and composer of the Soviet era. He began his career as an opera singer, performing at the Donetsk and Kyiv operas, and then later at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. Although he sang mainly opera pieces he also sang and recorded popular songs. He also appeared in an acting role in the film by Vadim Parajanov "Ukrainian Rhapsody" (1961). Gulyaev toured and performed in the US, Canada, France, Japan, Belgium, Cuba. He was the winner of VII World Festival of Youth and Students in Vienna (1959) and won the USSR State Prize (1975), He was awarded the titles "Honored Artist of Ukraine" (1960), "People's Artist of Ukraine" (1965), and "People's Artist of the USSR" (1968).
