In 1982, together with his future wife, Anna Vissi, they established the record label Carvi Productions (a combination of their last names). On 14 May 1983, he and Anna Vissi got married in Larnaca, Cyprus by the President of the Republic of Cyprus, thus becoming brother-in-law to [a=Λία Βίσση] & [a=Νίκη Μπούφη - Βίσση]. In November of the same year, their daughter, [a=Σοφία Καρβέλα], was born. The couple separated in 1992, but they got their formal divorce much later than 2000. Uncle of [a=Ζανίνα] & [a=Nick Piliouris] (Lea's children) and [a=Βέρα Μπούφη] (Nike's daughter).
