    Zachery was a part of the Gamble-Huff organization for over 30 years. In addition to performing, he was a composer, arranger and teacher, and played lead alto saxophone with jazz luminaries such as Ella Fitzgerald, Lionel Hampton and the Mercer Ellington Orchestra.
